Hiqa Reports

Virginia Community Health Centre is a Health Service Executive (HSE) facility that was purposely designed to provide residential, day care and primary care services to the local community.

The premises opened in 2003.
The designated centre provides care for 37 residents, mainly older people who need long-term or respite care.

The facilities for residential care are arranged over two units named Illangrove and Illankirka after the islands in the nearby lake Ramor.

Illangrove, on the upper floor accommodates 19 male residents in three single rooms, a twin room, two four-bedded areas and one five-bedded areas.

Illankirka, on the ground floor accommodates 18 residents.

The accommodation in this unit is provided in four single bedrooms, one area that has four beds and two areas that accommodate five residents.

Outside, there is a well kept landscaped garden with attractive sculptures to provide additional interest. It is accessible to residents, secure and has a variety of seating.
