The Sheil Community Hospital is located on the outskirts of the town of Ballyshannon.

The hospital provides a wide range of services to the local community.

This includes accommodation for 33 residents who need long-term continuing care or short-term care for respite, assessment, convalescence or rehabilitation purposes.

There is one place allocated for palliative care.
The other services provided on site are community out patient services such as dentistry, physiotherapy, x-ray and a day hospital that accommodates up to 20 clients daily.

The hospital building dates from 1894.
It is a large two-storey, over-basement design that has been converted and modified over the years.

It is set in spacious grounds with a garden area that has been developed for residents use.

There is car parking space to the front and side of the building.

The Sheil Community Hospital is located on College Street a short distance from the main shopping area and business premises in Ballyshannon.
